A 30 minute walk from our room in Ao Luk is this little park. Despite having to begrudgingly pay 400baht to get into the park when the local Thais, get in there for free to wash their hair and littler the place with their sample sachets & fags grrrrr! It's a cast limestone landscape with the limestone cliffs surrounding this beautiful spot. I can imagine in the wet season it's really quite a spectacle but in the middle of the dry season, as we where, it's a bit limited. The cool pools offered a much needed relief from the midday heat and the shady pools have a fairytale feel about them.
Don't bother with the nearby 5star hotel - we went there for food one evening and got so fed up with the crappy service we left without having a bite despite the ten minute walk to anywhere else! There is another cheaper hotel nearby which is owned by the same company ignore their recommendation's for good restaurants Comments
another that would make a magnificent print for my newly-painted wall
The exposure looks just right on this one- most of the time waterfall/stream shots have a tendency to look a little overexposed, but this is perfect The greens are nice and rich and vibrant, and the light shining on the trees is perfect. The trees on the right frame the shot beautifully. Magnificent. (I really need to put my thoughts into a more logical order when I'm commenting on here Not normally ... only in the over-touristy places. The food was normally fantastic , for example in the far South, on Ko Bon, we had the finest feasts I've ever eaten, home cooked, massive portions and absolutely divine tasting ... that said, some of the street vendors also sell large roasted insects!
-- play, but play seriously No worries I usually reply on peoples comments in veverse order to when thay made them anyway!!!!
The cave there goes right back into the cliffs - apparently it's big enough to warrent a boat trip when the water is higher. I'd be honored to know it was decorating someones living space. I'd consider the larger (Pixel dimensions 3456 x 2304) original printed out if you'd like? -- play, but play seriously |
