Golapaos, sharks and IR

Sat Oct 3, 2009, 8:49 AM
As an ever increasing fan of the underwater world and especially sharks, this brought a tear to my eye

Out of sight ...

Ok, how awesome are these?

Great, aren't they, and as a particular fan of trees I descided to try my hand. A word of advice - before buying an IR filter such as Hoyas R72 research your lens and camera for vulnerability to hot-spots. I think I may be able to work around the problem but only with a LOT of hassle.I still want to persevere but ... well I'm not holding my breath =(
My idea is to use a neutral card like one would to take a white balance image but instead to use it as a layer in photoshop and hopefully counter the hot-spot. I have no idea if it will work! Wish me luck =P

So, I sold ... well not much. Noting, actually :hmm:
Not even an email.

Still, I had kind of prepared myself for that so it's not so bad. I was competing with the cup final and a weekend with fantastic weather. So we had hundreds in for the private view, unfortunately only 15-20 per day for the following days. Apparently my prints where very popular ... just not quite popular enough it seems ... yet =P

Anyway, I just thought I'd post an update before I fall asleep (hopefully!)

Best wishes to you =)

First Exhibition ... mostly

Well, it's taken a while but I've finally been pushed into exhibiting my work somewhere I might actually sell some. As usual I have been as organised as a china shop enjoying a hand grenade. Hopefully by this time tomorrow I'll at least have my work hanging ... labels and price list might have to follow before the private viewing on Thursday!
SO
I have created an account with Art limited which I'm already thinking wasn't perhaps the greatest idea as I can only upload 7 images per week and the size is limited (all my images carry the printers embedded colour profiles making them well over the 500kb maximum)

Anyway if anyone is in Shoreditch over the next few days, I think there is 24 artists exhibiting working in all sorts of mediums and it should be thoroughly entertaining if nothing else! Plus, of course, you get to see my work full size (which I have been dieing to share with you!) ;o)

I hope this finds everyone smiling their face and enjoying a wonderful summer ... except those in the southern hemisphere who deserve all the misery we had to endure while they where basking in the sun a few months ago! (only kidding, love you all =D)

Happy days =)
